Why a phone works as a bike speedometer
Every modern phone has a GPS chip that measures how fast your position changes over the ground. Because it uses satellites, it works on any two-wheeler — motorcycle, scooter, moped or electric bike — completely independent of the vehicle's own instruments.
How to set it up

- Tap Start and allow location access.
- Pick your unit — km/h or mph.

Use HUD mode on the move
Glancing down at a phone while riding isn't safe. HUD mode enlarges and mirrors the display so, placed flat under a windscreen (on faired bikes) or on a mount, it stays readable at a glance. Otherwise, use a proper handlebar mount and only glance briefly.

Tips for accuracy
- Ride in the open for the strongest signal — GPS is very accurate on the road.
- Give it a few seconds to lock on before trusting the number.
- Keep the phone where the sky isn't blocked (a tank or bar mount is ideal).
Important safety note
A phone speedometer is a great backup and a handy check, but a working speedometer is a legal requirement on a road vehicle. Use this as a helper and get the original repaired — don't rely on your phone permanently while riding.
