How is typing speed (WPM) calculated?
One word is counted as five characters. Net WPM takes the characters you typed correctly, divides by five, and divides again by the minutes you took — so mistakes reduce your speed. This is the standard used by most typing tests.
What speed does SSC CHSL need?
SSC typing tests have commonly required around 35 words per minute in English and 30 in Hindi, over roughly 10 minutes. The exact target and duration are set in each notification, so confirm yours before relying on it.
How do I type in Hindi?
Switch your computer’s keyboard to a Hindi layout — Mangal / InScript is what SSC uses — or install Google Input Tools. This tool accepts whatever your keyboard produces, so your practice matches the real exam.
I have never typed before. Where do I start?
Use the learning mode. It begins with the home row (a s d f – j k l ;), then adds the top and bottom rows, capitals, numbers and finally full sentences. A few minutes a day beats one long session a week.
Is my typing saved anywhere?
